Every player paid a $10,000 buy-in to enter, which created a massive $94,041,600 total prize pool—the biggest in live tournament poker history. The winner, Jordan Griff, took home $10 million for first place, while 1,517 players earned cash prizes with the minimum cash amount set at $15,000.

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, the event set a single-day record when 5,014 players registered during flight 1D, the largest Day 1 crowd ever for a WSOP Main Event. This late registration surge pushed the final count past 10,000 players and broke the record for the highest one-day entry total in the tournament’s 55-year history.

The 2024 event lasted 12 days total, with competition moving through multiple rounds until nine players reached the Final Table at the Horsel Hotel in Las Vegas. Players came from all 50 U.S. states and dozens of countries, creating an international field that made this the most diverse Main Event ever held.
