The Scottsdale, Arizona resident’s biggest lifetime live tournament earnings are less than $50,000 and now, he’ll compete for a chance to win $10 million.

Brian Kim and Niklas Astedt, two of the most prominent and successful poker players in the world, sit neck-and-neck with 94.6 million and 94.2 million chips, respectively. Kim has earned over $7.3 million in lifetime live tournament play and won a WSOP gold bracelet but now, he’s locked up at least $1 million in live result earnings.

Astedt, a 33-year-old Swede who has won over $50 million in online poker tournaments, will look to build his legacy by winning the WSOP Main Event outright. He’s already locked up the biggest live tournament cash in his highly decorated poker career but has plenty of experience with his dominant online success.

Joe Serrock is fourth at the table with 83.6 million chips. He’s the all-time money leader in New Mexico and also enters the final table with a WSOP gold bracelet, following his 2023 win at the $500 online PLO 8-Max to qualify for the Main Event on GGPoker.

Canadian Jason Sagle is fifth with 67.3 million chips and has over $1.5 million in lifetime live tournament earnings. Prior to locking up $1 million in this year’s Main Event, Sable’s best tournament result was a second-place finish at the 2006 North American Poker Championship in his hometown of Niagara Falls, Ontario.

While this is the Bulgarian’s biggest live tournament earnings, he previously recorded a runner-up finish for $663,565 in April.

Jonathan Tamayo, Malo Latinois, and Andres Gonzalez round out the last three players. Tamayo has 26.7 million chips and recorded a 21st-place finish at the 2009 WSOP Main Event, so he’s got enough experience to make a run, despite being bottom-three in total chips at the final table.

Latinois nearly fell out of qualifying for the final table on Day 8 but now, with $1 million guaranteed, the Parisian has already added considerably to his previous $96,515 in lifetime live tournament earnings.

Gonzalez has 18.3 million in chips and is another player who made a strong push on Day 8 to qualify for the last spot at the final table. Despite where he sits, the Spaniard had a third-place finish earlier this year at a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em poker event that yielded over $200,000 in live tournament earnings. His lifetime earnings sit at $294,249, with another $1 million guaranteed, and possibly more if Gonzalez finds a way to run the table on Tuesday.

The 2024 WSOP series will conclude on Wednesday, July 17, when the Main Event champion is crowned.
